Green & Gold

Light is glittering this season. There is the golden light on the fading green leaves, and also some incredibly bright moons - Our whole house was lit up the other night!  This is incredibly helpful to the little one in my house who likes to wake in the middle of the night and find his way to my bed. We've been good about keeping up our adventures, and the little one is starting to draw on paper and not just his skin (and tongue!). And we are having fun! Routine can remove pressure, so we are diligently keeping to our commitment. But really, it's been much easier doing activities with the kids these days. They can walk, and communicate, and amuse themselves to some extent. They can follow direction. This fall has really been a time to see they are not little babies anymore. They are little kids - and that baby phase is fading away. By no means is it totally gone - we've still got diapers in the house- but its clear how soon it's going.

Getting Ready for a Sale

Making sun hats in and with a variety of bold prints.
Pulling together a few of my favorite baby hats.
And taking advantage of the nice weather to do a tent set up practice run.

This last activity was a family affair, as I required my husbands help. (Which means he did almost all of the set up.) Upon waking from her nap Amira joined us, and Max is always near by.

Thank you family for spending your nice day doing the same!

Let's have fun at SOWA next weekend!

Getting back into it!

So now there are two!
This spring has been all about family-with the addition of Max.

But he makes it pretty easy. Just cooing & sleeping. A new experience for us!

Amira on the other hand appears to have become a teenager overnight! Put down that phone!
Really though, she is still our little girl. We did our first Easter egg hunt this spring-another holiday filled with candy-lucky her!

And I am starting to make some summer hats, to compliment my winter ones.
I am also working on a better boy line, having a son now-I have a better sense of what works. (Not the pict below.)
But I get easily distracted these days.  Maybe I can pull it together. I will be in the SOWA markets this summer & fall. I am thinking of Benjamin Franklin as I use my time. And like him, I am not doing too much housework these days:)

Belated Xmas Post

This weekend we took down our tree, our cards, our lights, and I finally downloaded our photos. We didn't take too many, I think we were having too much fun since this is the first time Amira has really understood "presents"-Santa, and has had the ability to open gifts herself.

And now we start 2012, looking back on my 2011 goals, I had some successes. I fell down with making more foods from scratch, and never made any humus. But I did see my friends with more frequency then in the past. Amira is using the potty to some extent, but I think "school" can take more credit with that then me and daddy. I went further with my "crafting", but made fewer entries in this blog. Amira talks to us all the time-the strides she has made are unbelievable. 2012 is gearing up to be a year of big changes for our family-can't wait to tackle them all-I don't feel the need to add any more goals to my plate right now:)

Weekend Memories

Playing around in the kitchen.

Hooking in the living room.

Napping in Amira's room.

Back to my faster paced week.

A Day at Home in Winter

At home on a Tuesday...
Reading books over and over...

Learning to put on some clothes...

The view out the window where Amira stands on her stool and looks...

The cat in a brief moment of peace...

Scribbles spreading...

Smiling.
