Our trip coincided with the terror attack on August 17th, on Las Ramblas in Barcelona that killed and maimed so many. This was our first day in the city, and we walked the street maybe an hour and a half earlier. We were fortunate to have not been in that area at that time, and we were fortunate to witness a city express so much love in response to an act of hate. On each day we were reminded of the act in various ways, including this memorial. Our hearts are with those who lost so much.

Today.
A year ago, while Adrian repaired a door frame, I took the kids to King's beach for the first time. Since then we have visited six local beaches. Today -after Amira's preschool graduation!!!-we took a walk at Marblehead's Devereux Beach. Looking forward to visiting many more beaches this year!

Day at the Beach
We went to the south shore today to enjoy our first day at the beach this season. We dug a hole, Amira climbed in it. We sunbathed, and sand blew on our blankets. We jumped over waves, and never felt too hot. Amira made many friends, and we left before high tide washed away our blanket. Finished it with fish at Jake's fish market and ice cream at DQ. Indulgent and perfect!
